Gabriel Currington studied composition with Martin Ellerby at the London College of music. He has experience writing within different genres including theatre, television, film and concert music.
Some of his concert pieces recently performed include Elegy for cello and piano performed as part of a celebration concert in January 2001; Millenium Hope which from 2002 will form part of the advanced Trinity College Harp Syllabus published by Beartramka music and Days of 1000 Years for full orchestra which will be premiered by the Whitehall Orchestra under Michael Nebe on 5 July 2001.
As a composer for television and film, Gabriel's credits include Trex, a 13 part series broadcast in the UK in January 2001; A-Z of Britishness a documentary to be shown on Channel 5 on 27 June 2001; and Wedding Dress for Sale shown at the National Film Theatre in March this year.
As an arranger, he has worked for David Snell and Mark Stevenson (London Musici) and has also been Musical Director for the Barnes Theatre Company. He has scored live and recorded music for Much Ado about Nothing and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Gabriel is currently working for the television series Evil Men in History, a six-part documentary for Channel 5.
