Piano Soloist - Richard Evans
Richard Evans' interpretation of a wide-ranging repertoire is establishing his reputation as a formidable young pianist who brings meaningful lyricism and outstanding virtuosity to his performances.
He has performed in recital and in chamber music throughout the UK, and in Europe, including Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Notable engagements have included his highly successful debut at the Purcell Room - South Bank Centre, The Falsterbonäsets International Festival in Sweden, the Barbican Centre (as part of the Schumann Revealed Series), St. Martin in the Fields, Fairfield Halls, Steinway Hall, Beethoven Piano Society of Europe, Chopin Society, Hurstwood Farm and the Windsor Festival. He has also featured on HTV's Prime Time and BBC Radio promoting the release of his successful debut CD; "In Liszt's Sonata, Evans is brilliant" - Adrian Jack, BBC Music Magazine. Recently, Richard Evans performed Bach's Goldberg Variations at the Machynlleth Festival.
Richard Evans studied at the Royal College of Music, London, under John, Blakely. He furthered his studies with Dr. Peter Katin, and has also worked with Bernard Roberts. Richard Evans received an award from the Pottesman Trust following his Steinway Hall performance.
