Rebecca Goulden

Rebecca GouldenBorn in Bolton, Rebecca Goulden graduated from the Royal Academy of Music Opera School in 2010 with a distinction where she studied with Elizabeth Ritchie and Iain Ledingham.

Since leaving the RAO Rebecca has performed Pamina in The Magic Flute for the Beauforthuis Opera Festival, Netherlands, Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw at Dartington, Sirene (cover) in Rinaldo at Gylndebourne, Mimi in La Bohème at the Wexford Festival and has made her German House Debut as Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw for Opera Köln

On the concert platform she has performed the works of Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Tippett, Orff and Verdi.  Recently, Rebecca made her French debut as the Soprano soloist in Mauricio Wainrot’s ‘Le messie’ for L’Opéra National de Bordeaux.

The 2014/15 Season includes the role debuts of Cherubino for Swansea City Opera, Despina for Focus Opera and Clorinda for Wexford Festival Opera. On the concert platform Rebecca will sing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Mendelssohn’s St Paul and Mahler’s 2nd Symphony.

Rebecca currently studies with Mary Plazas. She lives in London with her husband and kitten.

Rebecca sang the solos with us in a joint workshop with the Whitehall Choir on Verdi’s Requiem in May 2013 and in a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in March 2014. We are delighted to be working with her again in Mahler’s 2nd Symphony in April 2015.
